Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® is a solution for students at risk of not meeting College- and Career-Ready Standards. The program respects the maturity of middle and high school students through its engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive design and content. PowerUp is effective for all adolescent students including BIPOC, special education students, and Emergent Bilinguals.
Literary Representation Matters
PowerUp’s Comprehension strand has over 100 high-interest texts in 16 passage reading levels. The diverse authorship and relevant topics cover multiple genres, including Narrative, Information or Expository, Drama, Poetry, and Multimedia Formats.

Statewide Progress in Comprehension
PowerUp addresses the two essential components of reading comprehension for grades 6-12: decoding (word recognition) and language comprehension. Students develop skills and strategies needed for higher-order text analysis using increasingly complex original and authentic texts. Homing in on comprehension creates independent and strategic readers!
